This Sunday we’ll be celebrating Dad with a special Father’s Day menu that includes some of his very favorite dishes!
Celebrations at our house most of the time are centered around food and this Father’s Day is no exception. Mr. A Southern Soul is the special man of the day on Sunday so he gets to enjoy all his favorite foods. It’s so much fun to give him the day off so that he can just sit back, relax and enjoy whatever he wants.
This years menu starts out with a much loved appetizer, a snack, then moves through to meat and potatoes ending up with a decedent dessert. When pulling together a line up of dishes to celebrate a special occasion, I don’t cut back on anything, especially taste! I cannot wait to spoil “Dad” this weekend. He deserves it.
Here’s the full recipe list along with helpful hints on when and how to prepare ~
Make this creamy, spicy appetizer right before you want to serve it and pile up tortilla chips along side.
Make the day or evening ahead of when you’d like to serve it. Make sure to use an 8 cup or larger crockpot.
Prepare a little ahead of dinner and cover with plastic wrap and store in fridge so that lettuce stays crispy. When ready to serve, drizzle on dressing.
Prepare ahead of time and store in fridge. Heat thoroughly in oven or microwave. Sprinkle extra cheese on top and heat until melted.
Prep broccoli and keep in refrigerator until ready to roast.
Prepare and let marinate in refrigerator overnight. Prior to cooking, let sit on counter to come to about room temperature, approximately 30 minutes.
Can be prepared the night before but be careful…they seem to disappear when left out in full view.
