If you love food, entertaining your family and friends, then you’ve come to the right place! I’m Donya, the life behind A Southern Soul. This is where I share recipes, some home & garden ideas, DIY projects and stories about my life and family. I’m a southern girl who learned to cook by watching my grandmother and aunts. From those incredibly talented women, I also learned how to make my home into a place where people feel special and loved.

Years ago, while working in corporate America, I met, fell in love with and married an awesome boy from Indiana. We’ve had quite a life of ups and downs but always knew we’d rather go through it all together. We are tough like that. Along the way, God blessed us with two sons. We love each other, are each others biggest advocates, push each other to be the best person they can be and are always, always there when one of us needs something.

One of the things I get asked most often is if I’m a trained professional cook. Well, not by a long shot. I am however passionate about serving great, seasonal food. On my own, I strive to learn cooking methods and techniques to make me better in the kitchen. My food is not fancy or hard to create. The best thing I can do here at A Southern Soul is give you a tired and true recipe that you’ll be proud to serve your family and friends.

I want to stay connected with you and the best way to do that is to subscribe to A Southern Soul. Just fill out the link below and you’ll get all the goings on from me!
