Let’s get right down to business. It’s summer. It’s hot, and during the week no one wants to be standing around in a hot kitchen making dinner.
Well, I guess I came strong on that but it’s the truth. What’s my comeback to these issues? Midweek Menu. This week, I’m in with 4 great recipes that are easy to make, don’t heat up the kitchen, and are totally delicious.
Ways To Keep Your Kitchen Cool In The Summer
It’s summer and it’s supposed to be hot but that doesn’t mean you have to be! That’s especially true when it comes to cooking. Here are a few helpful tips for keeping cool when the temperature starts to climb:
- whip up recipes that don’t use the oven or the stove. Like today’s recipe for Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad (you can buy a rotisserie chicken from the store) or All-Time Best Tuna Salad.
- Use your crockpot! Try Crock Pot Chicken Thighs or Crock Pot Mexican Shredded Beef. Both are great recipes that are loaded with flavor and use the power of a slow cooker instead of the oven.
- Use your grill whenever you can. Hamburger Hobo Dinner Foil Packs are perfect to make ahead of time then toss on the grill when it’s time to eat.
- Make an exciting salad! There’ just a few minutes of time needed to cook the pasta for Mediterranean Pasta Salad and it makes an incredible main dish meal. Or try Antipasto Skewers for a fun twist on a salad.
