Food has a magical ability to connect people, and what better way to do that than with a potluck? This week’s menu has four recipes that are great as a meal on its own and terrific to share with friends and neighbors at your next covered dish supper.
Potlucks provide a casual and relaxed setting for friends and neighbors to engage in meaningful conversations while savoring delightful dishes. If you’ve never hosted one, well, it’s high time you do so. I’ve got five tips to help you host a great, heartwarming gathering.
Easy Tips For Hosting A Potluck
- Set the date, pick the location, and make the guest list. You can go traditional with printed cards or keep things simple by sending e-invites.
- Coordinate the dishes with your guests. To organize the food, create a list of food categories, such as appetizers, mains, sides, and desserts.
- Create a welcoming ambiance by setting up tables and chairs. Set the table with plates, bowls at one end of the table and utensils at the opposite end so that guests can easily serve themselves without juggling too many things in their hands.
- Put out small cards to that guests can label their special dishes.
- Create a playlist of tunes that fit your theme. Then…enjoy!
