The first full week of December is here and Midweek Menu has four great make-ahead recipes to help you get a yummy meal on the table! An appetizer, pasta salad, comfort food, and sweets are what’s cooking. Who’s hungry?
We’re in the midst of a very busy season, friends. There are the holidays to plan for, school and church plays, musical events and neighborhood parties to attend. With all of that, it’s easy to let our schedule run us instead of us running it. Getting the family to the supper table may seem like a far fetched goal but it’s possible.
This week, I’ve got the slow cooker doing double duty. We’re actually going to start by making dessert first and I’m stepping through each recipe so that you’ll pull off this menu like a pro.
How To Make Midweek Menu #74
- Chocolate Peanut Crockpot Candy is our dessert this week. This is a simple, crazy good sweet treat that’s ideal for this time of year. Make this recipe the night before or even over the weekend. The candy takes about 2 hours to make so you’ve got your slow cooker available for other recipes.
- We’re starting our meal with a flavor-packed appetizer. Jalapeño Popper Cheese Ball is so simple to make and is great for parties or a weeknight snack. One of the things that makes it one of my favorite appetizers to serve it that I can make it ahead of time and freeze until ready to serve. The recipe makes 2 cheese balls but oftentimes, I make 3 smaller ones to that I can serve one before a family meal.
- The third make-ahead recipe is Lemony Asparagus Pasta Salad. This is a bright, fresh dish that fits perfectly with our flavor-packed menu. Make the pasta salad the night before then store it covered in the fridge. Take it out of the refrigerator about 15 minutes before serving since it’s best served at room temperature.
- Our main dish is super easy to make since the slow cooker does all the work. Game Day Crockpot Meatballs are great a the star of any meal or served as an appetizer.
