Meal planning may seem like a chore to many folks but for me, it is an absolute necessity. The list of benefits is long but it actually boils down to a couple of really important ones.

Number one is being organized. Most everyone I know is a bit stretched for time especially if you’re working from home. I’ve taken the organizing skills I use in business and transferred them to meal planning which has allowed me to feel in control when it comes time to serving supper to my family.

The second reason I’m such a fan of meal planning is that it saves money. I plan several of our meals based on what’s in season and what’s on sale at the grocery. I take it one step further with at least one recipe and make enough to get two, sometimes three meals from it. I get a bad attitude when it comes to wasting food so meal planning is one way I feel happy about what I’m buying, cooking, and serving.
