Meal Prep & Leftover Tips

Homemade Spaghetti Sauce: Feel free to tweak the seasonings. If you prefer a hint of sweetness, add a pinch of sugar or a splash of balsamic vinegar. For heat, add a few red pepper flakes.

Spoon full of stuffed shells, stuffed with cheese parsley and marinara sauce inside a baking dish.

Three Cheese Stuffed Shells: This recipe makes a large casserole, so it’s great when entertaining or feeding lots of folks. And if that’s not enough, I love whipping it up to freeze for those times when I really don’t have the time or desire to cook.

Garlic Knots: Swap parmesan with mozzarella, asiago, or cheddar for different cheese flavors. Use garlic-infused olive oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option. Add fresh herbs like parsley, basil, or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.

Cream cheese sausage balls on a white plate with serving skewers on a wooden board.

Bisquick Sausage Balls: To make ahead of time – Mix everything up, scoop out the batter, flash freeze it on a sheet pan, then pop them into a bag and freeze. When ready to bake, place on the sheet pan, allow to thaw, and bake.

Snowball Cookies in a metal tin under the Chrismas tree.

Snowball Cookies: Store cooled cookies in an airtight container layered with parchment paper to prevent sticking. They’ll stay fresh for a week at room temp or freeze beautifully for up to a month.

Mom’s Homemade Fudge: Once the chocolate is melted and the ingredients are smooth and creamy, toss in a cup of what you like—nuts, marshmallows, dried fruit, or chocolate chips.

Chocolate pecan candy with green and red candy and white sprinkles and chopped pecans in a glass Christmas bowl.

Chocolate Pecan Candy: A 5–6 quart slow cooker works well for this amount of chocolate and nuts. If your crock pot is much larger, the mixture may spread too thin and melt unevenly.
