Meal Prep & Leftover Tips

Cajun Garlic Shrimp: Don’t overcook the shrimp. The tails should be pink and the shrimp opaque. Cook shrimp with the tails on for more flavor that will seep out as they cook.

Instant Pot Buttered Noodles: If you are using spaghetti or fettuccini, break the pasta in half before placing it into the Instant Pot. I know breaking pasta is a “no-no” but it’s a must in this instance

Fresh Tomato Salad: I use a combination of heirloom tomatoes and other tomatoes from the farmer’s market. Make sure to use the freshest tomatoes you can find.

Garlic Parmesan Skillet Rolls: You can swap out the Parmesan for shredded cheddar or mozzarella.

Million Dollar Dip: Million Dollar Dip has been on my appetizer rotation for years—five ingredients, no cooking, and ready in minutes.

No-Churn Peach Ice Cream: For freezing, a metal loaf pan conducts cold better than glass. I used my trusty metal loaf pan and my ice cream was ready to serve in about 4 hours.

Easy Southern Sausage Gravy: To freeze, allow sausage gravy to cool and store in an airtight container and freeze for up to 3 months. Let thaw in the refrigerator, then reheat on the stovetop.

Crème Brûlée Coffee Creamer: Store it in an airtight jar or bottle in the refrigerator. It keeps well for about 7 to 10 days — just give it a good shake before each use since the ingredients can settle. A mason jar works perfectly.
