Meal Prep & Leftover Tips

Oven Fried Chicken: Any leftover chicken can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. You can reheat it in the oven or air fryer or serve it at room temperature.

Crock Pot Baked Beans: A great recipe to make ahead and freeze. Allow the beans cool, then place them in a freezer-safe container, and freeze for up to 3 months. To serve, thaw in the refrigerator, then warm in the crock pot or on the stovetop.

Creamy Coleslaw: It’s better when it has had time to chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour. You can also prep a day ahead of time if needed.

Apple Crisp: Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm in the microwave until heated through.

Refrigerator Pickles: They need at least a few hours to chill and soak up the flavors—overnight is even better. They’ll keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, though they’re best within the first 5–7 days while they’re still super crisp.

Southern Ham Salad: You can purchase cooked ham from the deli, either already chopped or thick-sliced. I’ve found the best way to make this recipe is to use a food processor. If you don’t have one, chop the ham into small pieces.

Pumpkin Spice Latte: Forget the coffee shop (and coffee shop prices) and make the classic fall drink at home. You just need to dump simple ingredients you probably already have, along with some pumpkin puree, into the crock pot.
