Meal Prep & Leftover Tips

Glazing chicken pieces on grill grates with Homemade BBQ Sauce (Easy And Delicious) using a red-handled brush, charred and caramelized

Grilled BBQ Chicken Legs: These chicken legs take about 30 to 35 minutes to cook over direct heat and an additional 10 minutes over indirect while you are basting them with the BBQ Sauce. The chicken will be fully cooked when the internal temp reaches 165°F.

Potato salad scooped out of a bowl with a wooden spoon.

Southern Potato Salad: Start your potatoes in cold water. Don’t add them to boiling water. Starting cold helps the potatoes cook evenly all the way through.

White serving platter loaded with fresh watermelon, grape tomatoes, red onion, spinach and feta cheese is an easy to make side dish for any spring or summer gathering.

Watermelon Feta Salad: When making watermelon salads, the liquid in the watermelon tends to make the salad soggy. The best way to plan ahead is just to keep the watermelon chopped but separate in the fridge until just before serving. I even like to keep it in a salad spinner to let excess water drain out.

Pineapple Bacon Cheese ball with extra pecans and parsley coating on a plate.

Pineapple Bacon Cheese Ball: Feel free to use any fat-percentage cream cheese you like. You can also use a flavored one like chives and onion, but sometimes it can be a bit too salty, so you’ll want to taste and adjust how much salt you add.

Cropped bacon ranch pasta salad with rotini, peas, cheddar cheese, and bacon bits in white bowl with wooden spoon

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad: One of my favorite ways to cook bacon is in the air fryer. Or you can also bake bacon in the oven. Both are a great hands-off method and clean-up is easy.

Slow cooker with glazed country ribs and fork, cropped cp country ribs fork 19 in white ceramic dish with caramelized sauce

Crock Pot Country Style Pork Ribs: For this recipe, getting a good sear on the ribs is best. It helps impart extra flavor. I use a cast iron skillet (get it screaming hot) to brown the ribs. Work in 2 batches so the ribs do not touch while searing the meat and fat.

Air Fryer Corn On The Cob is perfectly cooked and delicious.

Air Fryer Corn On The Cob: Cut the corn to fit into the air fryer. Be sure not to crowd the basket so that the air can circulate around the corn. Bonus that the air fryer doesn’t heat the whole kitchen, always important during hot summer months.
