Beef Kielbasa & Onion Appetizer

Smokey, beefy kielbasa and tender onions simmered in a rich, tangy barbecue sauce is a dish that I serve right out of the pot! All you need is a skewer and you are in business. If you need a hearty appetizer that’s easy to make, then this recipe is for you.

Some of you faithful readers of A Southern Soul have already seen this “bonus” recipe. I shared it over a month ago in my newsletter, Chit Chat and got so many positive comments. I am just tickled  that you all loved it that’s why now, I’m sharing it with everyone. Kielbasa & Onion Appetizer

Smokey kielbasa & onions cooked together in a tangy, sweet BBQ sauce that makes a great appetizer or game day or an easy snack for busy families.

Ingredients

Mix together:

  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • 1 heaping tablespoon whole grain mustard

Cut into chunks:

  • 2 smoked beef kielbasa links
  • 1 medium onion

Instructions

  • Place kielbasa and onions in a cast iron or heavy bottom pot. Pour BBQ mixture over and mix. Cook over medium high heat until sauce is thickened, about 15 minutes. Serve with wooden skewers or on a plate. ENJOY!

    This looks amazing! I have done a similar appetizer to this, but I LOVE the idea of using a skewer with it! I am definitely going to try that next time. This would go great with a cheddar beer bread and some jalapeno poppers for game day!
