When it comes to soups, I don’t care if they are creamy, chunky, or made with a simple, flavorful broth; I’ll take them all! Nothing is more comforting than a big bowl of hot soup and some crusty bread, especially on a chilly evening.

My Crock Pot Potato Soup recipe inspired this slow cooker soup creation. My new recipe, Ham and Potato Soup, is loaded with carrots, celery, and ham. I added a little decadence with half-and-half and sour cream on a whim. The outcome? A rich, creamy, delicious soup that gives you huge rewards with very little work.

This recipe is even easier with the right equipment! Discover my top slow cooker recommendations and make your cooking effortless.

I started a Soup of the Month Exchange with 5 friends for the winter. This was my soup for February. So far everyone has liked it. My husband and I loved it. Easy to make in the crockpot and so good. A rich, hearty meal when it’s snowy and cold outside. I will definitely be making this again.

We had it for dinner tonight and it was excellent.
Only issue was the broth was too thin. How could you thicken the broth?
