- Perfect for any summer holiday party, family cookout, or covered dish supper. But why stop there! They are great for game day or tailgating, too.
What You Need To Make These Baked Beans
- Canned Baked Beans – I use Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans
- BBQ Sauce – use your favorite brand. I like Sweet Baby Ray’s Original
- Chopped Onion
- Ketchup
- Yellow Mustard
- Brown Sugar
- Honey
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Garlic Powder
- Cooked Bacon
How Long Do Baked Beans Cook In The Crock Pot?
There are 2 temps and cooking times you can use for cooking this recipe.
- LOW – 5-6 hours
- HIGH – 3-4
Can Pork And Beans Be Used Instead Of Canned Baked Beans?
Yep, absolutely. You will need to alter the recipe just a bit, though. Since the pork and beans do not have any added sugar, you’ll need to increase the amount of brown sugar to ½ cup and the honey to 3 tablespoons.

dear donya thanks for your great recipes making 2 for supper today sending a hug
Thank you!
Love this recipe!! Not only is it easy to make but also delicious!!!
Hey Loves,
I absolutely LOVE this recipe! Did just make a very slight change.. I simply double the bacon that is called for . Lol.. because as the saying goes, “EVERY THING IS BETTER WITH BACON” and then I sautéed my onions and a bit of garlic along with the chopped bacon.. allowing them to cook all together until the bacon was crisp, and the onions were translucent..Simply drain the bacon grease and put bacon, onions and garlic on a paper plate lined with paper towels to absorb grease, and proceed with the dish.. Such an absolutely amazing dish. So easy to make, so very economical.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Best and easiest baked beans I’ve ever made! I did add chopped grean pepper to the mix. It’s my go to recipe now!
Just curious…did you triple ALL ingredients? I’m doing the same for an event tomorrow.
Sure! It doubles and triples easily.

My family loved it, but I just had to make it with some rice. It’s delicious! Thank you
I am making these today for our 4th of July dinner. I just tried them (they’re still cooking in the slow cooker) and WOW! These are AMAZING! I would have never thought to add barbecue sauce or honey but those additions are just so good. I also used precooked Costco bacon bits. Thanks for such a great recipe!
Thank you, Anne! So glad you are cooking along with me.

I made a triple batch of these beans yesterday for a BBQ event at our yacht club and people LOVED them. We had a competition BBQ chef come in to make the meats so the sides had to stand up and this recipe did in spades. So many said these were the best baked beans they have ever had! A couple of notes, I omitted the mustard because our club galley was out of stock, used Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce, and sauted the onions and bacon together before adding to the crock pot.
Adrienne, YOU HAVE MADE MY DAY! Thank you so much for sharing and I so, so appreciate the great rating. Oh, and next time, invite me to the party! 😉

Could you please tell me if its ok to double this recipe?
Sure, go for it!

The beans are so delicious! Doubled the recipe andI took them to a neighborhood cookout and everyone loved them! The only problem was they didn’t seem to cook down a lot and there was too much liquid left when they were done. Did I do something wrong? I did add some cornstarch mixed with a little water a couple of times at the end when the cooking time was up and that helped.
Any other suggestions? I will definitely make again! They were a hit!!
Thank you…they were sooooo good.
Thanks for the terrific rating!
