What Do Ranch Pickles Taste Like?

These pickles taste like the perfect marriage of pickle flavor and herb ranch dressing! If you love creamy buttermilk herb dressing, then this dill pickle ranch dressing recipe has your name on it.

Ingredients For This Ranch Pickles Recipe

An open jar of Mt. Olive pickles with a packet of Ranch seasoning mix partially visible, showing the powdery seasoning sprinkled on top of the pickles.
  • Ranch Seasoning – I use Hidden Valley Ranch – salad dressing and recipe mix. I’m a fan and love the intensity of the flavor. You can use whichever brand you like, though, or even homemade seasoning if you like.
  • Dill Pickle Spears and/or Hamburger Chips – I used a jar of pickle spears and hamburger chips for my TikTok recipe. You can certainly use a larger jar, 24 ounces if you only want to use one type of pickle.

Variations And Substituations

  • Amp the flavor with spices like onion powder, red or black pepper, garlic powder, or dried dill.
  • Herbs like fresh dill, parsley, and chives bring a bright, fresh vibe.

How To Make TikTok Ranch Pickles

  1. Prepare the Pickles: Open the jar of dill pickles. If the brine is filled to the top, pour out about a tablespoon to prevent overflow.
  2. Add Ranch Seasoning: Sprinkle the entire packet of ranch seasoning into the jar. Use a knife to gently push the seasoning down into the brine.
  3. Shake It Up: Secure the lid tightly and shake the jar vigorously to distribute the seasoning evenly.
  4. Refrigerate: Place the jar in the refrigerator and let it sit for at least 24 hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Enjoy: Give the jar a good shake before serving, and enjoy your zesty ranch dill pickles!

My Tips For Making This Recipe

  • Spice It Up: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a few slices of jalapeño for a spicy kick.
  • Herbaceous Twist: Include fresh dill or chives for added freshness.
  • Different Cuts: Try this recipe with pickle chips, spears, or whole pickles—whatever you prefer.

Storage

Store the ranch dill pickles in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. Always use a clean utensil to remove pickles from the jar to maintain freshness.

Serving Suggestions

  • Snack: Enjoy straight from the jar for a satisfying snack.
  • Appetizer: Serve alongside cheese and crackers for a quick appetizer.
  • Sandwiches: Add to sandwiches or burgers for an extra flavor boost.

I love homemade pickles like Cucumber And Onion Refrigerator Pickles and Sweet Heat Pickles for snacking, served as an appetizer, or on sandwiches and salads!

    1. Hey there Judi!
That’s a great question! It’s one 1 oz package of ranch seasoning. I hope you enjoy this recipe, let me know how it turns out!

      1. Little confused — recipe is for 1 jar of hamburger dill chips w/ranch dressing mix and 1 jar of kosher dill spears – so we’re making each separate, yes / no.

      2. Hey there Marlen!
That’s a great question! This recipe is for 2 separate jars of pickles, both spears and dill pickle hamburger chips. What you’ll want to do is put 1/2 a pouch of ranch seasoning in each jar, so you’ll use the full pouch but split it between 2 types of pickles. If you prefer spears then you can just do two jars of spears, same goes for the dill pickle hamburger chips. I hope you enjoy this recipe, let me know what you think! Thanks for your support, have a great day!
