I think there’s nothing better than a big, juicy burger cooked over a flame. I love ’em topped with cheese, and then, it’s time to build on that smokey flavor with something delicious. For me, it’s the sauce, which is always homemade. If I’m in the mood for something spicy, this sauce is my go-to.

Since these ingredients have some serious flavor powers, I keep things simple with just three ingredients, and that’s it! The real key to this spicy mayo which is similar to Kewpie Mayo, is making sure you’ve got the right ratios for each ingredient.

Is Yum Yum Sauce Spicy Mayo?

Yum yum sauce and spicy mayo are not the same, but they share some similarities. The key difference is the spiciness. Yum yum sauce, often served in Japanese restaurants as a condiment, tends to be milder and sweeter, while spicy mayo, as the name suggests, has a spicy kick.

Ingredients For Spicy Mayo

Mayonnaise, hot sauce and chili powder for Spicy Mayo Sauce.
  • Good Mayonnaise – I recommend Duke’s mayo. You can also use a vegan mayo if wanted.
  • Sriracha Hot Sauce – if you can’t find Sriracha, you can use Tabasco sauce or other hot sauces.

  • You can substitute sour cream or Greek yogurt if you don’t care for mayonnaise. Either are yummy in this recipe.

I made this for the first time last week. Let me say it won’t be the last time. Hubby is putting this on everything. Glad Mayo is usually on sale cause it looks like we’re going to need to hoard it! LOL
