Savory salami, cool cream cheese mixed with herbed cheese then rolled up into a yummy appetizer ~ this is one quick, retro recipe that is always a hit when hosting friends on the spur of the moment! Entertaining doesn’t have to be stressful, especially when you whip up a Salami and Cream Cheese Appetizer in no time!
I always keep a few ingredients in my fridge and pantry to have something to nibble on when friends stop by. Like these ingredients which actually do double duty so there’s no worries if I don’t use them for my roll-ups. That’s where this recipe comes in. With friends stopping by this weekend, I had all I needed for a nice little platter filled with fresh veggies along with something unexpected.
I call this a retro recipe because I somehow remember this being served at gatherings my parents used to attend. No, I’m not that old but I can recall lively games of Canasta being played with adults having fun and of course, enjoying a few appetizers and cold drinks.
I love making these little roll-ups for a number reasons. They come together in no time, can be made ahead of time and are kid and adult approved. As my friends know, my door is always open and there’s always something yummy waiting on them when they get here!
Ingredients Needed To Make This Salami and Cream Cheese Appetizer
- Cream cheese – softened
- Herbed cheese spread
- Fresh cracked pepper
- Thinly Sliced Salami

Yes, you can totally use a different cheese in place of cream cheese. The main thing to keep in mind when choosing is that the substitute for cream cheese has to be easy to spread. My recommendation would be to use a soft cheese such as brie or goat cheese in place of cream cheese in this dish.

- ¼ cup cream cheese – softened
- ¼ cup herbed cheese spread
- dash fresh cracked pepper
- 2 4 oz package sliced salami
Instructions
- Mix together cream cheese, herbed cheese spread and pepper.
- Fold each slice of salami in half. Spread with cream cheese mixture. Roll up and secure with a party pick.
- Can be made ahead of time and stored in fridge until ready to serve.
