What makes these air fryer mummy hot dogs unique? It’s simple: bacon. When cooked in the air fryer, the bacon releases amazing flavor and juices that the hot dog absorbs, taking it to a whole new level.

With the perfect combination of hot dogs, crispy bacon, and the convenience of the air fryer, they’re the ultimate pigs in a blanket.

How To Serve Bacon-Wrapped Hot Dogs

How Long Does It Take To Cook Hot Dogs In The Air Fryer?

Set the air fryer to 400 degrees and the timer for 8 minutes. Check the hot dogs after 6 minutes and turn them if needed.

I tested this recipe in a PowerXL and a Ninja 4-quart air fryer. Different models of air fryers cook differently, so I recommend checking the hot dogs near the end of the cooking time.

Tips For Making This Recipe

  • Do not use thick-cut bacon as it will take longer to cook and may not crisp up.
  • Wrap the slice of bacon tightly around the hot dog so that it stays in place during cooking. You can use toothpicks to secure the bacon if needed. Just remember to remove the toothpicks before serving.
  • Cook in batches and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket so that the air can circulate around the hot dogs.
  • Cooking times may vary depending on the type of air fryer you have and the size of the hot dogs.
  • For leftovers, store the bacon-wrapped hot dogs in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, warm up the hot dogs in the air fryer and toast the buns.
  • No cooking spray, vegetable, or olive oil is needed in this recipe.
  • For easy clean-up, line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.
