I just love your recipes…. my husband and I live on social security… can you please tell me what kind of spice’s/herb’s I can use instead of the ones in the recipe? I can’t afford the Dan’s seasoning…

Hey there Jo!
Thank you so much for your interest in my recipes, I am so happy to hear that you want to give this salad a try! Honestly, most of the flavor in this dish comes from the fresh ingredients, and I actually have a different version of this recipe that’s very similar but it doesn’t have any Dan-O’s in it, I’ll put the link at the bottom of this comment. My traditional Tomato Cucumber Salad recipe leans into the Italian flavors more, so you can use any brand of Italian seasoning you can find, and then the other spices are just salt and pepper. Let me know if you ever have any other questions, I’m happy to help. I’d love to hear how everything turns out if you give it a try, I really hope you enjoy the recipe!

While I would like to try your Spicy Tomato and Cucumber Salad recipe, I cannot because you do not offer substitute ingredients for your sponsor’s untenably high-priced spices plus shipping costs.

Hey there Gloria!
Thank you for your interest in this recipe! If you do not want to purchase the seasoning in the recipe that’s completely fine! In that case, I would recommend using your favorite spicy seasoning, coming up with your own spicy seasoning blend, or you can make the traditional Cucumber Tomato Salad recipe which I will link below. I hope this helps, have a lovely rest of your day!
