Football season is here, and that means it’s time to get my list of winning game recipes together starring, Crock Pot Hawaiian Meatballs and Spinach Artichoke Dip, and flatbread pizza. Now, some folks are all about the teams playing, and then there are lots of folks who are all about the food. I happen to be all about both!
What Is Buffalo Chicken Flatbread?
My recipe for Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Pizza combines the flavors of buffalo chicken wings with the convenience of pizza into one perfect recipe! It’s made with store-bought flatbread, naan bread or pita bread, cheese, and buffalo chicken.
Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Recipe Ingredients
- Packaged Flatbread – I use Naan bread or store-bought flatbread. You can also use prepared pizza crust, pita bread or tortillas.
- Buffalo Chicken – I use my recipe for crock pot buffalo chicken; however, you can mix rotisserie chicken with buffalo wing sauce (Frank’s Red Hot is my favorite) or hot sauce in a pinch.
- Ranch Dressing – you can use your favorite bottled dressing. My blue cheese dressing that’s rich and creamy can be substituted.
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese – grate your own for the best flavor and texture.
- Celery – I use the leaves for garnish and fresh flavor. You can use chopped green onion or cilantro for extra flavor.
How To Make Flatbread Buffalo Chicken Pizza
- Heat oven to 425 degrees. Place flatbreads on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Spread ranch dressing on each of the flatbreads. Sprinkle with cheese, then shredded buffalo chicken.
- Sprinkle blue cheese over chicken, then add the remaining mozzarella cheese. Place in oven and bake until cheese is golden and the edges of flatbread are browned and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, and rest 5 minutes. Cut each flatbread into 4ths and serve.
Questions And Answers
Sure! You can substitute store-bought pizza dough or crust. You can also use individual Naan bread to make personal pizzas. If you’ve got a local pizzeria nearby, you can pick up some dough there. Yum!
Certainly! Cheddar or Gouda can be great alternatives to mozzarella.
If you are not a fan of spicy food, you can reduce the amount of Buffalo sauce or opt for a milder sauce variation.
To maintain the crispiness, reheat slices in a preheated oven on a parchment paper-lined baking pan or a toaster oven.
