If you’ve been hanging out with me for ages, you know how much I love to entertain. When I say entertain, I don’t mean some “big to-do, highfalutin” party. I mean, fun get-togethers full of laughter, good food, and drinks.
You might not think salami chips are party food, but hold on. They’re crispy, salty, and are a totally addictive, easy appetizer. Plus, this low-carb, gluten-free snack is baked, so there is no frying or messing with oil.
Ingredients For Baked Salami Chips

- Salami – Just any sliced salami, like Genoa salami or hard salami will work. I like to use smaller ones so they are chip-sized when baked,
- The Dip – You need mayonnaise, ground mustard (Dijon or whole ground mustard works great, too), and horseradish.
Variations And Additions
- For a bit of spice, try using spicy salami. You can also add black pepper or cayenne for extra heat.
- Swap the mayo for Greek yogurt or sour cream to add more tang.
Step By Step Instructions

- Arrange the salami slices in a single layer on a rimmed parchment or aluminum foil-lined baking sheet.
- Bake the salami until crispy, then place on a paper towel-lined plate or tray to drain off any excess grease.
- Blend together the sauce ingredients and serve with the cooled salami chips.
Donya’s Success Tips
- Make the dressing whenever you have time. This way you can use it with other recipes and have it ready for guests.
- If you’re nervous about horseradish, start with a little less, blend, and taste. Then, you can add more as you like.
- Keep the salami slices in a single layer and not overlapping so they cook evenly.

Frequently Asked Questions With Answers
The chips are best eaten immediately because they become soft as they are stored. However, the sauce can be kept for up to a week in the fridge in an airtight container. Just give it a stir before enjoying it.

Yes! My favorite dips with these chips are Tahini herb dip, Southwest ranch, and spinach artichoke dip.
According to social media, you can, but I wouldn’t recommend it. I’d stick to the oven or air fryer.

More Ways To Enjoy These Savory Snacks
I serve them on ham jam sandwiches for crunch, as a topping on this tomato cucumber salad, or even on toast with egg salad. I also love them with potato soup for a little extra crunch!

Are you using course ground mustard the dry spice, or the prepared condiment?
Hey there Kate!
Thank you so much for your interest in this recipe! I used the prepared condiment mustard in this recipe, I like to use course ground mustard or stone ground mustard. I hope this helps, let me know how the recipe turns out if you end up giving it a try. Happy Holidays!

These are great! I made them in my air fryer. I love horseradish and the dip is awesome for me, hubby isn’t a fan but he used ranch, and I bet honey mustard would be great too. Actually, blue cheese sounds incredible. Thank you for all these great recipes, I try at least one very week and ALL have been perfect!
I’m so glad you liked them, Catherine!

We received a jar of Irish Stone Ground Mustard for Christmas. This seems to be the perfect recipe to break it out.
What size package of salami did you use?
I usually use the 12 oz size. Hope this helps.
Have a wonderful day,

How far in advance do you think these can be made & would they lose their crispness?
You can make them about two days ahead of time. They never last that long around here though, lol
Have a great day, Cathy!

I miss horseradish mixed with mustard. It’s such a staple in our corner of the world. I have never tried or tasted salami chips. As it comes I just bought salami from the shop so I will attempt your recipe. Thanks for the inspiration!

These sound delicious! This dip? ?? I love horseradish!
This sounds amazing, I can’t wait to try it!
How do you keep the salami chips once you have baked them? In the fridge or can they stay out?
I think they would be fine left out. Honestly, they’ve never lasted long enough for me to store them.
Enjoy!
