Donya’s Kitchen Table Tips

  • Go a little rustic and leave soft bits of blueberry in the dressing.
  • Make the vinaigrette 10–15 minutes ahead so the flavors can mingle.
  • Swap in raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries to change things up.
  • Add a spoonful of Dijon for a creamier texture and extra zip.

How to Store Your Homemade Dressing

Store the blueberry dressing in an airtight container, like a mason jar, in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to 1 week.

People Often Ask…

Can I use frozen blueberries?

Yes, frozen blueberries work great. Let them thaw just a bit, then mash and use exactly like fresh.

What is the best oil for salad dressings?

Use an oil you enjoy the taste of—extra‑virgin olive oil is my go‑to, but avocado or grapeseed oil are nice, mild options too.

Can blueberry salad dressing be made creamy?

Sure! To give the dressing a creamy texture, add a tablespoon of Dijon mustard. Mustards add extra zest and creaminess to the dressing.

Can I make vinaigrette in a blender?

Yes, you can absolutely make vinaigrette in a blender. In fact, you can make a vinaigrette using a food processor, fork and bowl, mason jar, blender, or even a hand mixer if it fits your fancy.

Is this blueberry vinaigrette good for more than salad?

Absolutely. It’s delicious drizzled over grilled or roasted chicken, salmon, pork tenderloin, or spooned over a big grain bowl with veggies and greens.

Can I make this vinaigrette without honey?

Yes. Swap in maple syrup or agave if you’d like to keep it naturally sweet but honey‑free. Adjust the amount to taste since each sweetener is a little different.
