If you’re looking for a bold, easy side dish that doesn’t take much effort but delivers big on flavor, this is it. I already loved potatoes, but the first time I made these, I was hooked. That Cajun kick paired with crispy edges and tender centers? Game over.

Southern Roots, Modern Twist

  • Big, bold flavor from a classic Cajun blend.
  • Golden and crispy, thanks to the air fryer (no deep frying here.)
  • Quick enough for a weeknight, tasty enough for guests.
  • Pairs perfectly with grilled pork tenderloin, fresh salads, and brunch favorites like ham and cheese strata.

Air Fryer + Cooking Tips

How Long Do They Take To Cook?

About 13–14 minutes in the air fryer at 400°F.

Tips for Best Results:

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed
  • Shake the basket halfway through for even crispiness

What You’ll Need

  • Small Yukon Gold potatoes – buttery and perfect for crisping up
  • Cajun seasoning – use your favorite store-bought blend
  • Garlic powder – adds depth without overpowering
  • Dried oregano – a little herbal balance
  • Freshly cracked black pepper – for a subtle bite
  • Chopped chives – adds color and freshness before serving

What Is Cajun Seasoning?

Cajun seasoning is a bold blend that comes straight from Louisiana. It usually includes paprika, garlic, cayenne, black pepper, and oregano—and every version has its own little twist. I keep a store-bought blend in my pantry to make things quick and easy, but homemade works great too.

How To Make Them

  • Start by cutting your potatoes into chunks and tossing them with oil, butter, and that bold Cajun seasoning.
  • From there, it’s all about the air fryer. I use my Ninja—quick preheat, easy cleanup, and super even cooking.
  • Give the basket a shake halfway through, and when they’re crispy and golden, you’ll know they’re ready.
  • A little sprinkle of chives before serving? That’s the finishing touch.

How To Store & Reheat

To Store: Place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
To Reheat: Pop them back in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes until warmed through and crisp again.

What To Serve With Cajun Potatoes

To be fair, I think you could serve these potatoes with anything! But of course, I have some favorites.

  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  • Cut the potatoes into halves and/or quarters, making sure they are all about the same size. Add the potatoes to a large bowl.
