The Christmas Brunch I Make Every Year

Christmas morning looks different in every home, but one thing we all have in common is wanting something warm, special, and doable on the table. Over the years, I’ve hosted everything from slow, pajama-all-day mornings to quick breakfasts before heading out the door, and these Christmas brunch recipes are the ones I come back to again and again.
Inside this round-up, you’ll find make-ahead Christmas breakfast casseroles, sweet brunch breads, fresh fruit salads, and easy savory bites that work whether you’re feeding two people or a whole house full of guests. Many recipes can be prepped days in advance, and several are ready in under an hour, so you can spend more time by the tree and less time tied to the stove.
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Brunch Game Plan: Simple Timeline
This is the basic schedule I follow, so Christmas morning feels cozy instead of chaotic. Adjust it to fit your family’s traditions and what you choose from the round-up.
2–3 Days Before Christmas
- Finalize your brunch menu and make your grocery list.
- Shop for pantry items, dairy, meats, and fresh produce.
- Prep any make-ahead casseroles, baked oatmeal, or sweet breads that need overnight chilling or can be baked and stored in the fridge.
- Slice or cube bread for casseroles and let it dry slightly if needed.
The Day Before Christmas
- Assemble any additional make-ahead dishes (like fruit salads that hold well, egg casseroles, or grits casseroles) and refrigerate.
- Bake quick breads, muffins, or cinnamon rolls that reheat well in the morning.
- Set up your coffee, tea, or hot cocoa station so it’s ready to go.
- Pull out serving dishes, platters, and utensils; label them with sticky notes so you know what goes where.
Christmas Morning
Transfer everything to serving platters and set it out buffet-style so guests can help themselves.
Preheat the oven and pop in your casseroles and baked dishes according to their directions.
Warm breads, muffins, and rolls while casseroles rest.
Put together any fresh fruit or last-minute items just before serving.
